Thoughtful web design, from first sketch to long-term care.

Everything a small organisation needs online, from the first website to the systems behind it. For small businesses, not-for-profits and community organisations, and always built light, built accessible and built to last.

Websites and content management

For organisations that need a site their team can run without calling a developer for every change.

We design custom websites around your content and your visitors, then build them on the content management system (CMS) that suits your team and budget, with lean, standards-based code. You get a site that's quick to load, easy to edit and entirely yours.

What's included

  • Discovery workshop and sitemap
  • Custom design, mobile first
  • A CMS your team can edit with confidence
  • Training for your team

Content management systems we use

  • WordPress, for sites your team updates often
  • EmDash, for simple brochure sites
  • Drupal and Joomla, for larger, content-heavy sites
  • Webflow and Framer, for design-led marketing sites

Online stores

For makers, growers and retailers ready to sell online, or ready to sell better.

We build online stores that are quick to browse and clear at checkout, with honest product pages and no dark patterns. We set up shipping, payments and stock so the store fits the way you already work.

What's included

  • Product, category and checkout design
  • Payments, shipping and tax setup
  • Product import and data clean-up
  • Order and stock workflow training

Good to know

We'll recommend a hosted or self-hosted store based on your catalogue, budget and team, not on what we prefer to build.

Web apps and prototypes

For ideas that need more than pages: portals, booking tools, dashboards and internal systems.

When a website isn't enough, we build web applications with Laravel. For new ideas, we often start with a working prototype made in an AI app builder such as Lovable, so real people can try it before anyone commits to a full build.

What's included

  • Requirements and user flows
  • A working prototype to test with users
  • Laravel application build
  • Hosting, monitoring and handover notes

Good to know

A prototype is often the cheapest way to find out what you really need. We'll tell you honestly whether it's ready to grow into a full build.

Automation and AI

For small teams losing hours to copying, chasing and re-typing.

We connect the tools you already use so routine work happens on its own: enquiries reach the right person, orders and invoices stay in step, and reports arrive without anyone compiling them. Where AI genuinely helps, such as drafting replies, summarising documents or answering common questions on your website, we set it up carefully, with a person checking what matters.

What's included

  • Workflow review to find the quick wins
  • Automations between your existing tools
  • AI assistants and writing tools, set up responsibly
  • Documentation and team handover

Good to know

AI uses real energy, so we only add it where it saves more than it costs. Sometimes a simple checklist does the job better, and we'll say so.

Search and visibility

For sites that work well but are hard to find.

Good search visibility starts with a fast, well-structured site and useful content. We fix the technical foundations, help you plan and write content people are actually searching for, and set up analytics that respect your visitors' privacy.

What's included

  • Technical SEO audit and fixes
  • Content structure and keyword plan
  • Local search and Google Business Profile
  • Privacy-friendly analytics setup

Good to know

We don't promise rankings and we don't use tricks. We explain what we changed and why, in plain English.

Research and discovery

For decisions that deserve evidence before anyone designs or builds.

We find out what your visitors, customers and competitors are actually doing before recommending what to build. That can mean talking to the people you serve, reviewing your analytics and content, or scanning your market. You get clear findings and practical next steps, whether or not we do the build.

What's included

  • Stakeholder and user interviews
  • Analytics and content audit
  • Competitor and market review
  • Findings report with clear priorities

Good to know

Research works well on its own, or as the first stage of a website, store or app project.

Brand and identity

For new ventures, and for organisations whose look no longer matches who they are.

We help you find the words, colours and type that feel like you, and then turn them into a simple system that works on your website, in documents and on a shopfront sign.

What's included

  • Logo and logo variations
  • Colour palette and typography
  • Tone-of-voice guide
  • Brand guidelines your team can use

Good to know

Brand work pairs naturally with a new website, but we're happy to do it on its own.

Accessibility audits

For organisations that want everyone to be able to use their site, and need to show they've checked.

We review your current website against WCAG 2.1 AA using automated tools, keyboard testing and screen readers. You get a clear report that ranks issues by impact, and we can fix them for you or alongside your team.

What's included

  • Automated and manual testing
  • Keyboard and screen-reader checks
  • Plain-English, prioritised report
  • Optional remediation and re-test

Good to know

Accessible sites usually turn out lighter and easier for everyone to use, so this work supports your sustainability goals too.

Care and hosting

For anyone who'd rather not think about updates, backups or downtime.

After launch, we keep your site secure, fast and up to date. We look after hosting too, and help you choose providers that run on renewable energy. When something needs changing, you talk to the people who built it.

What's included

  • Software and security updates
  • Daily backups and uptime monitoring
  • Small content changes each month
  • A yearly speed and carbon check

Good to know

Care plans are monthly, with no lock-in contract. We can also look after sites we didn't build, after a health check.

Questions we're often asked

Can't see yours? Ask us anything. We'd rather you had the full picture before you decide.

Ask a question
How much does a website cost?

Every project gets a fixed quote after our first conversation. A small brochure site and a large online store sit at very different price points, so we'd rather understand what you need than quote a number that doesn't fit.

How long does a project take?

It depends on scope and on how quickly content comes together. Your proposal includes a realistic timeline, and we'll tell you early if anything changes it.

Will I own my website?

Yes. Your domain, your content and your code belong to you. If you ever move on, we'll hand everything over cleanly.

What makes a website sustainable?

Mostly, sending less data. Smaller pages, efficient code, well-sized images and greener hosting all reduce the energy used each time someone visits. Our approach page explains it in more detail.

Can you work on my existing site?

Often, yes. We start with a health check covering speed, accessibility and security, then recommend whether to improve what's there or rebuild.

Not sure which of these you need?

That's normal. Tell us what you're trying to achieve and we'll suggest the simplest way to get there.
