The Slovenian Australian Academic Association brings together academics, researchers, students, professionals and entrepreneurs with a shared interest in Slovenia and Australia. It runs an annual conference, webinars and language awards, and builds links between the two countries and their regions.
What they needed
The association’s website had grown over many years and was hard to keep up to date. Events lived in one place and the website in another, so members and partners had to go looking for what was on.
What we did
- Rebuilt the website from the ground up, with a clearer, more modern design for an international audience of academics, students and partners.
- Connected the site to Eventbrite with a custom integration, so conferences and webinars appear on the association’s own website as soon as they’re published.
- Reorganised the content around what members actually come for: events, tenders and awards, membership and the community itself.
- Made membership sign-up straightforward on both desktop and mobile.
Where it is now
The new site is ready and moving from its temporary address to the association’s own domain, saaa.si. It gives the volunteers who run the association less to manage, and more time for the work of connecting people across two continents.
